Ratings for Sakurai Sho’s New Drama
Beats Fellow Arashi Member Matsumoto Jun
Source : Mingpao
Translated: sparkles_n15 @ http://asianfanatics.net
With the spring drama season underway, the highest rating from last week’s broadcast goes to ‘Boss’, starring Amami Yuki with 18% viewership. Ratings have also been released for four other dramas, but the overall viewership is lower than ‘Boss’. Arashi member Sakurai Sho stars in NTV’s ‘The Quiz Show’. Sakurai’s character is the host of a game show who reveals secrets from the contestants’ past. The ratings were at 14%, which beats fellow Arashi member Matsumoto Jun, who is starring in TBS’s ‘Smile’. A tanned Matsujun plays a half-Japanese, half-Filipino character alongside a mute girl played by Aragaki Yui. Ratings were only at 11.7%.
With his return to the small screen, ‘Tokyo Tower’ actor Odagiri Joe is paired with Nagasawa Masami as brother and sister in ‘Boku no Imoto’. Ratings were at 12.2%, which barely edged out ‘Smile’. TV Asahi’s ‘Meitantei no Okite’, an adaptation of Higashino Keigo’s novel and starring Matsuda Shota and Kashii Yu had ratings of 10.8%. Although Kashii Yu is up against her husband Odagiri Joe in separate dramas, both have only reached average ratings so far.

Popular stars Joe Odagiri and Masami Nagasawa are playing siblings in the TBS drama “Boku no Imouto,” and recently there has been a lot of attention drawn to real-life siblings such as Jun and Yu Shirota, as well as Kumi Koda and misono. As a result, Oricon conducted a survey on the subject. A thousand men and women were asked, “Which famous person would you like to have as your younger brother?”
Leading the list was WaT member Teppei Koike. Among the responses were comments like “He’s really cool,” and “He’s refreshing and seems really responsible.” “Through his behavior and smile, the goodness of his personality just exudes out of him,” commented a man from Miyagi.
Koike was followed by Takeru Sato, with females commenting that they can imagine “easily getting along with him and becoming really close.” “You want to brag of having a younger brother with such a wonderful smile like his,” said a female from Kanagawa.
The complete top ten were as follows:
1. Teppei Koike
2. Takeru Sato
3. Haruma Miura
4. Ryunosuke Kamiki
5. Eiji Wentz
6. Kenta Suga
7. Ryo Ishikawa
8. Yusuke Kamiji
9. Hiro Mizushima
10. Ryosuke Yamada
The results of the “younger sister” survey will be published in a few days.

Arashi’s Kazunari Ninomiya (25) and actress Mao Inoue (22) will co-star in a drama special on TBS. The story is based on two novels written by professional windsurfer Natsuki Iijima, who died of cancer in 2005.
During Iijima’s battle with cancer, he wrote an essay titled “Gan ni Ikasarete,” which formed part of the basis for the 2007 film “Tengoku de Kimi ni Aetara,” a biography of Iijima that starred Takao Osawa and Misaki Ito. Around the same time, Iijima penned a novel also titled “Tengoku de Kimi ni Aetara,” as well as a sequel titled “Kamisama ga Kureta Namida.” The drama special is based on those two books, which sold more than 450,000 copies combined.
The drama is also being called “Tengoku de Kimi ni Aetara.” Ninomiya plays the main character, a psychiatrist working in the counseling room of a cancer treatment center by the beach. While tending to the patients, part of his job involves taking dictation from them when they want to send a letter to a loved one.
Inoue plays the psychiatrist’s wife and mother to the couple’s twin daughters. Other cast members include Nobuko Miyamoto as a nurse, Yusuke Santamaria as a surgeon, and Naoto Ogata as the owner of a surf shop.
The broadcast date for the drama has not yet been determined.
